Meeting the Grandson of a Golfing Legend
David’s participation in the “Artists of the Game” exhibition during the 2018 Masters Tournament at Augusta afforded him the opportunity to meet Dr. Robert T. Jones IV, the grandson of legendary golfer Bobby Jones. A plaque at Merion Golf Club outside of Philadelphia commemorates Bobby Jones’ singular “Grand Slam” accomplishment in 1930, and is the subject of one of David’s three paintings featured in the exhibition. Dr. Jones gave a lecture at the Morris Museum of Art on the evening of March 8th, and shared stories of Augusta’s golf past and some of the important figures he has known through his love of the game.
